20 minutes from the house to the camp. Was in a duck club last year that was 6 1/2 hours.

Sometimes I hunt in the back yard and some times i drive to FinL's property about 15 min away. Public land is between 20-45 mins from the house.

2.5 hours to my camp then I'm only 4 miles away from hunting property..When I had my small lease in Clarke I used to do the same thing..I would leave at 12:00 drive an 1 1/2 just to hunt that afternoon & then drive back home..Then I got me a little camper & quit all that mess..
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

Those of you who live very near areas of the state with decent hunting are lucky! Someone break out a tiny violin for me! I did the 2.5 hour one way drive to the black belt for a few years before my son was born. Great deer hunting. But, after he was born, I decided that being a father was more important than any deer would ever be, so I joined a club here by the house with a lot smaller bucks. Zero regrets.
