Guys I know we like to gig our buddies, wives, girlfriends about when they kill a small deer I'm guity of it myself. Today my fiancé killed her first it might have only been a 38 pound doe and I have cut up about it all day, but truth be known its a Trophy in my eyes and I know she wishes it was a bigger, but the most important thing is and I think at times we all forget this. "It's not about the size it's about the memory you made" this was a big accomplishment for her and she has been excited about deer season for awhile now and I'm very proud of her today the look of excitement on her face was priceless I couldn't be any happier for her as I am now.

They should ALL be that way. As we were coming home from the club, I told my son yesterday that we might not have killed a deer, but I got to spend every minute of the day with him and that was as good as it could get for me. I looked over when I finished saying that and he had a big grin on his face.

As my Daddy always said "Baby, shoot whatever makes you happy." It's the memories that count. And those little ones eat just as good.

I was thinking while in the stand yesterday about a question posted by someone not long ago. The question was what do you do if you have deer around you at dark. My thoughts were that if we were in the old days they would have never had to ask that because hunting was hunting and you never gave them the chance to stick around until dark, they either had a bullet in them or had some slung at them. Congratulations to her on the kill.

My son is 1yr 3 months. I don't want to wish his life away but I cant wait to take him hunting.

My buddies son killed a 75-90 lb doe yesterday. It was his second deer in 6 years. (He's 14). He was as happy as if he had killed a monster. It was a good day for me, his dad and the kid. Especially since his mon n dad have recently gone through a divorce.

They are all trophies in one way or the other and the memories made are the best thing ever!!

It's a trophy. My first deer was a little 4 point. My brother had killed a big mule deer that year and they were giving me hell for it. He was asking who's dog I shot. I did it's antlers up as best I could and to this day, I smile when I put my hands on them.
