In my experience with ours they are only good for directing traffic once the real fire fighters get there I see them let a lot of houses burn to the ground that should have been put out. I'm not saying that there aren't a lot of good volunteers that know their stuff but a lot of them are just there for the t shirt and car tag and you can't deny that.

The majority that actually have radios and turnout gear are 55-65 years old
