mirage, everyone, as you can see, has different ideas of deer hunting and what makes them happy. i'm gonna change it up a little but take this for instance. i was crappie fishing the other day and there is this peckerhead whose dock i like to fish, i know he is strictly against keeping 9 inch crappie. problem is he never remembers me or my boat. i was fishing around his dock the other day and he asks, you catching any good sized crappie? i say yeah, ive got a few 12 and 13 inchers but most of them are between 9 and 10 inches. he asks, you keep 9 inch crappie? there aint anything to eat on a 9 inch crappie. i just said, like i tell you everytime you try to throw your beliefs in my face, i would rather eat a 9 inch crappie than a 14 incher because my fillets cook faster and they are thin and crispy just like i like them. i'm sure if he had it his way, you would only be able to keep 13 inch or bigger crappie but dammit i prefer eating 9 inch crappie. some people like their bucks to be tender too. with that being said, on most properties i hunt, i will only kill does and mature bucks.
