Personally I don't think the "find a hunter" studies with dogs have any bearing on how deer react. Cover scent probably masks your scent much better than it eliminates anything, but deer are usually spooked by smells they associate with humans, if they associate your cover scent with you being there - and they will if you use it often enough- it won't work the way you want it to.
