Herniated my C4-C5 three years ago. Worst pain of my life for about 6 weeks. Felt like someone put a knife in my shoulder and cut my arm all the way down to my left pinkie. My surgeon wanted me to have fusion surgery. I decided to wait it out and see what happened. A couple months later I felt much better and could function again. Today, I am pain free and have no problems with it. You will have problems later in life, I had my c4/5 fused together in FEB and thank god. Actually, there are lots of people who have herniated discs that never require surgery or have any future problems with them. Hopefully you will not have any issues with your fusion.
