I did read it all. He said he turned it loose. He wasn't hunting, he just turned it loose to run off where it probably shouldn't have been. Doesn't mean it needed to be shot but nobody knows what he was doing when it was shot. I won't argue about it because if you don't get it you never will. I hunt my dogs too, but if they aren't with me hunting they are in the kennel, yard, or house. I don't just turn them loose because I know not everyone likes dogs running through their property, chasing their cat, killing their chickens, ruining their hunt, going through their garbage or whatever, not to mention getting run over by a car.

Yall did read the original post entirely?

Yep.. I read it all... Build a fence... Use an underground fence... A dog can be cut loose and not go where it's not suppose to be... I cut mine loose in the backyard all the time when cleaning or doing things where I need her out of my way... And she stays in the backyard... Bad things happen when people are irresponsible or careless... I know you don't expect your dog to be shot.... But it happens and will continue to happen...

Sorry to see you dog with an arrow in its back. Thats just wrong, to make an aniaml suffer. I dont like seeing or hear it . As most people on here know, I HATE when dogs run across MY private property. I am the first to say i dont blame anyone for taking a RIFLE and blowing a dogs head off. Its a clean, human, and correct death for a tresspassing dog. To shoot a dog with an arrow is cruel and stupid . Its also stupid to claim on a public forum that you would" Blow someone out of a tree" or kill them over a dog! Some people just dont understand that it just a dog or animal, Its not worth dying or going to prison over! If you shoot someone out of a tree, you WILL go to prison= unless that person kills you first and he will have acted in self - defense. I have ZERO problems with killing tresspassing deer dogs, but wounding them with an arrow , is wrong, cruel, and inhumane. Even I find this to be wrong!!!! Hope you dog gets better soon. Dont go shoot the guy that shot him with the arrow. Sue him or kick his ass! rofl

I consider my dog a part of my family and if my dog got loose near my house and someone shot it they would have a whole hell of a hurting coming on them. I hope your pup is healing up well.

Same here. That is a sorry POS. If some POS did that to my dog he would never do it again. I was raised in walker county after all

I don't care what property it is if my dog is passing threw and not causing any harm to your property or livestock and you kill it initially knowing it is a harmless dog and I know it was you I will handle it and you will lose much more then a dog. You have more respect for life then that as a outdoorsmen and if a dog ruins a hunt well that's part of life you move on not kill it. Some people love their animals and spend time training them to be hunting partners. Should a dog be left loose to be chasing deer.. No but someone could have lost it hunting or been at work when it got out etc... I hope if you are a person who kills dogs for no reason other then it cost you a deer you fall from your treestand break your neck and a dog nibbles on you a few days before someone finds your sorry tail. Your not starving and the dog is a innocent animal that doesn't know what your precious property lines are and the deer they chase will still be alive and be back to kill another day.

If a working dog or stray comes across my deer lease I catch them up and call their owner if they have information on the collar. If the dogs don't I call Animal Control to pick them up. Its not rocket science folks, do unto others as you who have them do unto you!!
