My friend bottles persimmon oil and I always carry some with me. I will drip some in my shooting lanes during bow season. If a deer walks over it they stop and smell it every time giving you a shot.

Yep. Real early bow season then I'm done. Possums and coons do a number on them too.

My tree already produced this yr.... Does that sound to early? No- I've found that with wild persimmons that no two trees produce on the same schedule. Some are early, like now and some are much later- totally tree specific.

Yep, really good after the first good frost. You'll have all kinds of critters come to a persimmon grove. They are the happening place for a few weeks.

It would be a waste of time for me to hunt persimmon trees on our place. They are already gone by the time bow season comes in. Regardless of the type of food source, I won't hunt it unless there is big buck sign around it.

I haven't see a persimmon tree since the war of 1812.
It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

Shot a 7 point in early bow season 2 years ago. It was dropping heavy and deer sign all under the tree, set up a stand and he came in around 7:15 a.m.

Never had then on places I have hunted in the past. After reading so much about them lately I have started keeping an eye out for them. I have thousands of them and have located 25 or so full of fruit. I am trying to think through the best way to take advantage of this. I am think early season bow opportunity??
