go buy regular old "feed" oats . you can't go wrong or get any cheaper .
find a farmer that has oats in a storage bend that are two years old or less and buy by the drum . 2 1/2 to 3 bushels to the ac .

Absolute cheapest seems like it would be wheat. One 50lb bag to the acre. Should be $8-9/ bag. i aint seen any kind of wheat that cheap in a long time . for wheat you need at least 2 bushels to the ac , thats two sacks or 120lbs

Feed oats there easy to plant and will grow in just about any kind of soil.

They'll sprout just fine. I'm sure the seed grade isnt a whole lot more.
