Current Alabama state record is 14'-2" 838 lbs...this one makes that look like a baby!!! Yup, I think this one breaks the record book. But some of them before records were kept and before the law when they could grow 50+ years were a lot bigger than that one.

I'm sure there were some from back then that would shatter the world record

There's is and always have been bigger gators than that around that area and north. A 50 year old gator isn't that big at all, that gators probably a 100 years old give or take. There could easily be one killed tonight that beats that one, if you can catch him in the river. Bigguns dont live in the river, theyre in sloughs and oxbows near the river and come to the river at night to feed or later in the year to breed. I know of some 13+ footers that were killed over 60 years ago and they're are some 15 + footers on private land in Dallas co. but it would take a bulldozer to get them if you killed one of them.
So weird.
