Skinny, this is outside the topic really but I've always wondered something about the statistics of your field.

What Percentage would you estimate of the years of humanity that is studied in Archaeology is from today to 6,000-10,000 years ago? 10,000-25,000 year ago? Etc....

By that I mean the digs, the research, the findings, the cities, civilizations, the burial sites, etc... Are most of these findings from now to 6,000-10,000 years ago; 10,000-25,000 years ago? What percentage do you think of civilization finding and research is from much further than that, like 100,00 or 1 million years ago?

I know there are studies/digs/research all over the globe and I was curious what the geological or archaeological dating is assign by our modern scientists on most of those?

It really depends on where the researcher is. In the New World its between 75years to 15,000 years (100%) because there is little to no evidence for any humans being here before 15,000.

In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa its all over the board from 3.5 million and earlier in Africa to WWII in Europe.

In Asia it can also be all over the board but not as early because the best evidence for Homo Erectus in Asia starts at around 1.5mya.

There really is not a blanket answer to your question. In Europe it may depend on what is found during a pre-construction survey project and what each individual country finds important. In Italy they may bulldoze Roman era house sites just to excavate formative village or the Neanderthal site underneath.

In Kenya and Ethiopia they really focus on the early pre-human stuff, which btw are heavily supported by the oldest Christian churches there. Now in Nigeria they focus on the Bantu empires.
In Asia it depends on what the politicians there think is important, China really puts a lot into their early man studies and the major dynasty archaeology, but Japan is more focused on its Imperial Age, and in Cambodia or Vietnam they tend to focus more on the age of the Khmer Rulers.

As bad as he was Saddam Hussien was better than most dictators when it comes to archaeology and he did a lot to preserve Old Testament era sites and artifacts. These ISIS folks that are coming in have already declared that all of the Old Testament artifacts and sites are to be destroyed like the Taliban did with the ancient Buddhist stuff in Afghanistan.

Looks like they turned the longhorn into a spaceship...

Another thing Mike, just to give you an example. Most archaeologists try and remain flexible and not pigeon hole themselves into one particular time or era of study. Myself, I have excavated everything from late 19th century sawmill sites, 1830's historic forts, War of 1812 forts, historic Creek Indian villages, the first statehouse of Alabama at Cahawba and the prehistoric 13-14th century Indian village underneath, numerous Late Woodland sites (700-1000AD), and many other earlier sites as well. The site I did this past couple of months is a 2500 year old site and I only found one potsherd that said "Noah hate giant lizards" on it, not really sure what that means.
But that kinda gives you an idea of how we do regular business. Its not necessarily about the time period as it is how we approach what needs to be done.
