Just to rehash. I just got off the phone with a landowner who has 800 acres he wanted to lease. He wants $4/acre for turkey.

As he explained it. "All turkey hunters go two at a time. They don't ever go by themselves so I figure 800 acres will be good for 4, maybe 5 hunters. $4/acre split between 5 hunters isn't all that bad."

We had a very cordial conversation. I told him I rarely go with another person and he was shocked when I said that usually with turkey hunting it's about 500 acres per hunter is a good ratio. Just because the nature of the hunting where you have to move on birds ect, that you need more acres per hunter. He seemed to appreciate the info but was firm on his price.

Man, times have changed.
