Looks like deer to me. Hope you get some meat on the ground.

:)I have been hunting the Talladega NF for 15 years + and I have never been skunked on a trip from Virginia. We hunt Perry County, but I will say that you have to do your homework! Hope you get a big one Austin_243. I will be in Al. Jan. 19.

Jan 15th is the end of our dog season. The big bucks will start getting active around that time. Good luck. this deer came from less than 100 yards from where the camera was. 14 point. Killed in 2000

Man I'd go back on Monday and put it out again....making sure it's pretty well hidden....and leave it there for multiple days. May get confirmation of a stud! I've saw the deer that's using this area.. He is a nice one for sure. Jumped him up going to get the camera. More than likely im going to set it up again tomorrow.

Yes there are some great deer in Alabama, I have three on the wall with the best at 140, mostly hunt for the meat. I have an ag business and a full time job, so at best have only a few days to deer hunt in Virginia. Austin_243, I have often wondered if your district of the Talladega was good, as mentioned I hunt perry county, around perry mountain and panhandle area.

Doing better than me Austin. I've been in the woods off Salt creek for a bit. Found TONS of fresh signs but never a deer. I know they're there, but just can't seem to find him while its daylight..ha.. Good luck man! Clean out a scrape with an stick..take some Code Blue and pour in it. I use real buck piss out of deer we killed. But if i was to buy it, id buy code blue... Put some of the code blue on your boot or a drag rag and walk around the scrape...i would walk 200 yards all around it. Buck will follow the smell to the srape... do that in the evening ..Next morning be in there waiting on him to come trough.. Be careful buck will watch scrape with fresh smell in it. Don't let the big one see you before you see him!!! Good luck if you try it!!
