Fwiw, I dont know if I would be spraying cleth over drought stressed clover with just a month and a half till the season comes in. Id just let it ride, it will devout with the frost. Mature crab grass is a lot harder to kill than young crab grass.

Mature crab grass is a lot harder to kill than young crab grass. If the grass has gone to seed, you might as well wait. So a guy who wasn't real sure about what he was doing would be ok to mow and spray 2-4db, and then top seed in a +/- 3 weeks?

How tall are the broadleafs? If they've already went to seed, you'll be waisting your time spraying them. Herbicide kills the plant, not the seeds that have developed on the plants, when mature. If you spray, the seeds will just resprout. Better to mow, then wait a few weeks and then spray. Keep the mower high, about 6", at least, so your really just cutting the tops off the weeds and grasses. If your clover is browned up and stressed, i'd stay off of it for now, until the temps drop and rain is more frequent. Spring is the time to attack weeds and grasses.
