I am just now being able to type this, still extremely pissed at myself. Opening morning brought 3 gobbles from 3 turkeys that i knew right where they were. I set up on a road and against the same tree i killed one last year against. They only gobbled a couple times on the limb and when they flew down i started calling to them soflty. None answered. I got ready adn shortly after i see the lead one coming down a huge hill straight to my decoy strutting. He proceeds to strut all the way to my decoy at abouot 27 steps. Goes in to half strut and i sent some 6's his way. He flew stright up about 10' then hit the ground running and then took flight.

I couldnt believe it and have replayed the scene 100 times in my head. I can only guess i wasnt all the way down on the gun and didnt line up both beads and rushed the shot.

I am still very frustrated and the wife has told me i have been pouting worse than our 3 year old several times.

Hate you missed him, but that is one of several reasons I don't shoot beads on my turkey guns.

Do you have truglo sights? If not get the ones, where you have to line up the single red one on the end of the barrel, between the 2 greens ones on the rear sight. It eliminates that from happening. Sorry for your misfortune.

no aftermarket sites on the gun. Just the bead at the end of the barrell and the one about halfways down.

Guys, the sites arent the problem, have killed plenty with this setup. I just rushed the shot, totally all on me!! It wasnt my first miss (allthough has been a long time) and prob wont be my last!

Now, i just need to get another one in range to rebound with

I know there's nothing fundamentally wrong with your sights, i'm just saying, you missed for some reason, and you brought up, not getting down on the gun enough. The sight, i talk about would eliminate that. You can still miss, but it won't be because of that.
