I picked up a used (privately owned but had never even been loaded) Sig Sauer P238 380 today, to carry in my pocket when one of my larger handguns will be more difficult to conceal. The book says the magazine holds a capacity of 6 with one in the pipe. My problem is if I put 4 or more in the magazine it won't load a shell properly when I work the slide. It works fine with 3 in the magazine and 1 in the pipe, but I really don't want a 4 shot hand gun. On the other hand I don't want to load to capacity then get in a shtf situation only to have the next bullet not load properly. I've loaded it with Remington Golden Saber HPJ, which is all Mark's had available when I stopped to pick up some ammo. I lubrixated the slide but that didn't help. Could it be due to the stiffness of the new spring in the magazine? What do y'all think? Thanks. If voting made any difference, they wouldn’t let us do it.-Mark Twain

3toe Talking Turkey 3 Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 27,159 Helena	Spring stiffness. Sig is notorious for stiff mag springs on the smaller guns. My P938 started out like that. Kept a full loaded magazine in it and now it feeds and functions fine.

They never failed to load but the slide doesn't go into battery with "authority" how does it shoot otherwise? I would run a couple hundred rounds through it and see if it gets better. They are fine guns so don't give up on it . I carry 938 everyday and it has never had a hiccup. Sig has excellent customer service also. Just my 2 cents

Just load that mag up and shot it. I bet it will shot fine. I would run at least a hundred rounds thru before I did anything. It will work itself in. Now just shot the snot out of it.
