Talked to Macon county warden Mann today, and he told me that every time you call in an animal that it will cost the state about $1 for every phone call. I bet the state doesn't want us to kill a couple hundred thousand deer this year! Also he said that he would enforce the feeding rule as written so if 100 yards away and out of sight your all good even if its a little bush in a clear cut, or green field, as long as its out of sight. Said the law as its written is all the judge would have to go by so that's all that could be enforced.

The must be paying someone else to build the interfaces and keep the databases up. I would have done it for .90 a call.

Officer Mann sounds like a sensible guy. That is what the rule/law says and nothing more as far as I know.

The phone system does cost the state but not that much. That's why the state is pushing using the phone app and internet version, its free to the state.

Here's what they are telling us about the costs:

" ... DCNR Commissioner N. Gunter Guy Jr. said his department has set aside $250,000 to implement the program with hopes that it won’t cost that much. He said how hunters choose to report their harvests will determine part of the costs. The cost of hunters reporting directly to the Outdoor Alabama website and by the phone app will be minimal, he said. There will be a cost of $1 per minute charged to DCNR for those who report their harvests by regular telephone."
