He said he has no idea why but this spring is the best gobbling in his area early in the season he has seen in the 12 years he has been up there.

He has many small tracts he hunts he will pick 4 or 5 to hit each morning if he does not hear one he goes to work if he hears one he kills it. If he does not kill it that day it is a lucky turkey who is on borrowed time.

That's amazing in Cullman. I know you said four or five places but I'm curious if its north south east or west Cullman Co. Five already in Cullman is getting it done. He must have been raised by a flock of hens and knows the deepest darkest turkey thoughts!

He is the last person u would want to be after you if u were a turkey. About the first cullman exit heading s on 65 and within 10 miles of the Interstate is about the farthest away spot. Normally he has to crawl or wait em out firat of aeason but he aays they are gobbling strong and coming like they normally do toward the end of the season most years

5 birds, this time of year, in 10 days (since 3 days were spent chasing osceolas) is unheard of. All he can do is call now. If I ever get good enough to kill 5 a season, I believe I would try to string it out over the season or atleast be very picky at what I shot. Congrats to him for a great, fast season.....or a good leg pull! wink

Quite an accomplisment. He has some honeyholes for sure. You can't do that without honeyholes.

Ha its not a leg pull and many more will die, he is normally responsible foe the death of 12-15. I know one year 4 or 5 yrs ago he killed/called ip for family/friends and himself 19 in alabama 4 or 5 in tn and then went to south dakota I beleive and killed a few more. I guess he gets my limit for me cause I can't hardly kill 1 a year anymore

There's a few guys on here that will rival him. I know a guy that kills/calls 20+ EVERY year. He don't believe in limits either!!

Most of where he hunts is up around the falkville area and some around the lake catoma area. I am not from there and just know the areas by how he describes them

He has an open invite to come try some of these public land management birds around here on Cahaba Helena side. I don't care how many he has killed or how good he is, my money is on the bird.
