Planning to replace batterys on my converrted club car for the first time. Recomendations on batteries? What should expect to pay if somebody else does it? How difficult to DIY(probably have a few bad cables)

Trojans are the gold standard.

It isn't any more difficult than changing a truck battery.

I just put a new set of Trojans in my club car, I shopped around best deal I found was Dixie battery supply in Tuscaloosa they were cheaper than batteries plus or sams club. Its not hard at all to change them just draw you a diagram of how the batteries go and number your cables. Go to buggiesgonewild.com forum and you can find anything you need to know thumbup

i would suggest for you to buy new cables, for the $15-20 it is worth it to make sure. it would be like changing the oil in your car but not changing the filter.

It is what it is.

Inspect what you Expect.

The brand Dixie carries is IMO just as good or better than Trojans. I put a set in my buggy four years ago and they're still going strong. You can expect to pay around $600 or so for a 48 volt cart... at the minimum. Do as rackhunter suggests and visit buggiesgonewild and do some research... it will save you time and money. BTW, you'll do well to build yourself some new cables... if you're handy with tools, it's no problem.
