I sold my bow about 6 years ago cause the wife (now ex-wife) didn't want me hunting. I'm back to hunting and I'm going to get bow in Feb or March.

I stopped at Bass Pro Shops and looked at bows, but then I thought to myself that I'd like to buy one from a locally owned shop. I'll even pay a little more to support em.

So....my question is....can anyone recommend a good archery shop within 50-75 miles of Tuscaloosa?

Try One Shot Archery down highway 82 right before you get to Gordo. Ive heard good things about them.

If you're looking for a Hoyt go see Rickey and Shannon at One Shot as mentioned above. If you're looking for a Mathews it'll be worth a trip down to Archery Unlimited in Prattville. Ask for Rick. He carries Hoyt and Bowtech also. Don't waist your time with Woods & Water or Mark's. They've got the bows, but don't have anyone worth a crap to properly measure you or set one up. twocents

Awesome, thanks for the info guys.

Looks like I have a "side trip" next time I goto Montgomery for work. hehe

I'm going to check out One Shot also. I haven't really decided on the brand of bow yet. The last one I owned was a PSE Mach Flight 4.

Ricky and Shannon are top notch and once you shoot the new Hoyt there won't be a need for the trip to Montgomery. It is awesome.

If you're going to Montgomery, drop by and see Raven (James) at Walter Craigs. He can fix you up.

Or If you are looking for a Pearson you can stop in Wetumpka and see Ken at Bennetts Archery of US31. Nice folks, outdoor shooting range and will assist you with just about anything you need...

You can't beat one shot in Gordo. If Ricky ain't got it he will order it right then and there. He gets busy but he'll set you up right then and there and let you shoot before you leave. if you don't like it he'll get the way you want it. your somebody in there not just another customer.
