I only heard one single gobble at daylight this morning. I searched for him til 9:00, but never saw or heard any sign of him…I decided to check one more greenfield on my way back to the camp house and sure enough two gobblers were in that field with a hen. The wind was beginning to whip pretty well, so I took off over the hill to try and get in front of them. They beat me to the spot I wanted to be, but luckily, the gobblers had deserted the hen and were beginning to gobble good!! I called the “looker” up and killed him at 33 yards!! The strutter ran to his flopping buddy and flogged him. He put on a show in gun range for over 20 minutes after I shot his buddy. My first ever multi-bearded turkey!! Some big loops and Didn’t hear a thing early.
Struck one through the wind at 9:45 down off a hardwood ridge.
Eased down one bench and hit him again and he starts to act right.
He stayed down in the bottom for a bit gobbling and I went silent and eventually he came looking.
It was so windy I couldn’t hear him walking, He popped his head up over the lip of the ridge more Right than i needed him to be at 10:19.
I Eased the barrel over got it on him, he started bobbing his head and i smooth missed.
Congratulations to the killers!

I got GomerJr setup on TWO strutters (together) yesterday morning but 3 hens and a property line screwed it up. Finished the day by getting back to a truck that wouldn’t crank. Suspected fuel pump possibly. Had to get it towed from the woods to the shop.
There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:
