Took my kids today out on their first arrowhead hunt. Found a bunch of flakes and two broken blades. Any help identifying would be appreciated. I know it may be hard since they're broken. We found them a few miles outside of New Hope, AL in Madison County on private property with permission to keep what we found. You got a couple of Gary points as they are sometimes called. Those are common knives, not spear points. They have a large date range of 7500 to 500 years old. Yours are most likely in the 3500-1000 year range. The material is called Ft. Payne Chert, which is the most common for that area of the state. Probably got a good site there. If you found pottery it would make dating the site much easier.
