Bama has to get by Texas tomorrow and Auburn has to get past Vandy. I don't see Auburn having much trouble with Vandy but that Texas game for Bama is @ Texas and can be a trap game if they get to looking ahead.

They will both still be 1-2 when they play Saturday; win or lose their mid-week games. New poll will not come out till Monday

Vandy beat #5 Tenn on Jan 18th, then loses to Bama on the 21st, Then beats Kentucky on the 25th, then gets blowed out by Okie Feb 1st, followed by Fla. on Feb 4th, then beating Texas on Feb 8th... I think Aubie is gonna have a tough time with Vandy myself, depending on which Vandy team shows up...

Alabama is ranked outside the top 100 in defensive efficiency and their offensive success is almost totally reliant on their guards scoring the ball. In my opinion this year is Oats best coaching job to have this team playing as well as they have but if their guards have a cold shooting night they can't just ramp up the defense or pound it inside and beat you. I think Auburn probably drops one more and Alabama 2 more before season ends and Duke gets the over all number 1.

Certainly a long shot for that to come together; but if Bama only loses 1 more regular season( toughest schedule in the country) they will still be a #1 seed.

And they should be. Just because they are one dimensional doesn't mean they can't make a deep run. Their guards just can't have an off night.
Defense is just technique and effort so I don't understand why Oats doesn't demand better. He is trying to create so much motion to get open looks on offense I guess he cuts them some slack on the defensive end?

"Looking ahead however, ESPN's BPI also has Alabama's remaining schedule as the No. 1 toughest in the country, ranking tops in the metric's remaining strength of schedule category. As to why, look no further than what the Crimson Tide, who are currently tied with Auburn atop the SEC standings at 10-1 entering Saturday, have upcoming.
Including Saturday, Alabama has seven games remaining in the regular season against SEC opponents, but what truly makes it so tough is that each are against a team currently ranked within the Top 25. Those home games are against #1 Auburn, #15 Kentucky, #22 Mississippi State, and #3 Florida, while Alabama will also travel to #21 Missouri, #5 Tennessee, and #1Auburn."

That's a brutal end to the year. Yep, 4-2 would be a strong finish

That's a brutal end to the year. Yep, 4-2 would be a strong finish It is brutal and I agree 4-2 would be strong. Heck, I'd be impressed with 3-3. I listened to a radio show last night on XM where they interviewed Pearl, which was great, and the "experts" predicted one of the SEC leaders (didn't specify which one), to lay an egg in the SEC tourney and then go deep, deep into the NCAA tourney. They were talking about how tough bammer has it for the rest of the season. Back to the Pearl interview, he was driving by himself from Tuscaloosa, and heading to his lake house for the next day. He said the team was free to go out in Auburn for a couple of hours when they get back and have Sunday off. He said he hasn't been to his lake house since before Christmas and was looking forward to a day off. When asked what he was going to do on the lake he responded "Eat Kosher barbeque".
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

When Pearl was at Tennessee, the ESPN crew was following him during the tournament.
