I live here in Oxford and the best steak in the area is Damn Yankees in Heflin without any real competition. It's a bar type environment but his food is off the rails. He has nightly specials as well.
He is at exit 199 on I-20. About 20 minutes from the main Oxford exit.
If you want to stay in town I'd go to Affina's in Anniston. You might also like the Classic on Noble. It's a very fancy place but the food is just mediocre.
