One of our employees got scammed for 3k last night. They got a phone call from my number with my voice saying I was in jail and needed bond. This person was only 17 and somewhat naive because her parents hadnt warned her about crap like this. These folks are getting good with the AI crap. Please talk to your kids and let them know this is going on. This poor girl had saved this money for college and now its gone. I will make sure she gets it back if I have to give it to her myself. Not much worse than a POS scammer in my book!

Scammer bilked Madison County, MS out of $2.7 million. Scammer claiming to be Jay Hemphill emailed about paying invoices, and had the matching invoices, but needed to change the bank account routing numbers. The invoices had already been approved by the Board of Supervisors, so it was paid in 3 transactions. One transaction was returned. The clerk contacted "Mr. Hemphill" (who had a thick middle eastern accent) about the return and the transaction was sent to another bank successfully. Someone from Hemphill Construction called asking about why the payment was late and that's when it was discovered. So far, they've gotten $2.2 million back. The clerk happens to be the girlfriend of a Supervisor and wasn't/isn't qualified for the position...that she still holds.

Just got off the phone with one. He wanted 18 Goodyear tires right away. He would pay all extra fees for expedited service if I would take a credit card over the phone and he would send someone to pick them up. I told him that was great but the tires were at my other warehouse and to have his guy meet me there. I gave him the address to the police dept. He hung up after he looked up the address.

Any scammer that is caught red-handed should be summarily executed. BOOM - DEAD. That would stop that shucks in a hurry. Problem is that our damned Gov't doesn't give a damn about "regular" people getting their money stolen from those creeps. I for one have just ABOUT had it with most all of the BS going on in this country... I AM PISSED.

Take the card and when the hot shot truck shows up to get them, load up 18 scrap tires. It's a great way to get them hauled off and burn the scammer.

My phone blocks most. When one gets through, I ask them if they need an inspection and spend a great deal of effort trying to sell them one. They usually hang up. Then I block them. I bet I have a thousand blocked numbers and 10k blocked emails.

Blocking the number does nothing. Speaking to them simply validates your number is legit.
