I don't post here a lot, and ain't looking for pity, but wanted to let you know what you already know. Keep your eyes open when working outside please. Sunday evening while cleaning up some new property I bought, I went to move some metal roofing. Told my wife to stay back on count of it perfect spot for ol no shoulders. Not paying attention myself I grabbed the bottom piece and bam! Got tagged on my finger. Just happen it was a dry bite so no bad affects other than swelling and loss of feeling for a few days. Just pay attention please.

Dang. Keep an eye on that bite. If it even starts to get a little worse go to the doc or the finger could rot off.

take some benadryl. Just kidding. Someone posted on here that they hired a snake wrangler for their property. Said he came out and put down pieces of tin. Ever since then I flip tin with a shovel. Bout everything I can really, if its been sitting.

Actually never saw it. Felt something but me but didn't even look in a hurry. Little later saw blood and two puncture holes. Figure it was a copperhead though.

It has been the summer of rattlesnakes near my house. Ive seen 5. The one in the yard was too close. I'm ready for some cooler temps. I stepped on a banded water snake saturday while chainsawing... got me thinking I should pay more attention.

What kinda snake was it. I have a friend that got bit (copperhead). He didn’t go to the doctor either. It ended up messing with his eyes. He can still see fine but when he get close like within talking distance he almost had to look at the ground and then rotate his eyes all the way up to get a clear picture. If you don’t know him it’s really odd. The doctors told him it messed with the muscles in his eyes somehow.

Killed a timber rattler under the barn. My kids usually run around the woods near camp at night playing hide and seek opening weekend, but it’s too warm and we’ve killed too many up there the last year.

Back in the spring, I lifted up a tarp covering one of my wood stacks and dang little copperhead came right at me. I was jumping back and slingin' iron. Got him twice with some rat shot in my .22 High Standard Pistol that my father gave me years ago. Several folks have seen this gun and always want to buy it. It has nice checkered handles and is a long barrel 9 shot. It's a nice shootin' iron. I'm wondering if it is more valuable than I think it is. He had it way before I was born in 1956.

Killed this one last wknd. 2nd one in about 10 days time. The 1st was way bigger but hit it with my bush hog and wasn’t much left to take a pic of. Never could find the rattles or the head.
