God marked me up enough, I do have scars but they were unintentional. They look cool on the right kind of people and I'm not the judge.

I cut myself sometimes but it's all on accident. Had an older man I knew was in the Navy. He had a bunch, said he regretted ever getting it done. Saw some on a woman the other day that looked like she had done them herself. Not flattering at all.

One of the first things I noticed when I moved up here was all the women that are tatted up. I wondered about it until I realized that I came from Selma and the same percentage of women there were tatted up but theirs just didn't show up as well. No joke.

The verses in Leviticus regarding cutting of one’s own flesh referred to certain cultural practices of public display of mourning or grief. Tattoos are mentioned alongside cutting for the same purpose. It is wrong, and unhealthy, to cut or maim one’s living body over the loss of the dead.
I believe, biblically, though I’m no scholar by any metric, that such an understanding should have been followed by the flagellants during the midieval period who would whip themselves until they bled openly.

I’ve never had a moment where letting someone put something permanent on my flesh seemed like a good idea. The GF has two rather small tats. One on her ankle and one in the tramp-stamp location. Both horse related. They are okay and not very noticeable, most of the time. I’ve got some female friends, particularly bartenders, with a lot of ink and they can be downright distracting and not in a good way. Like a skin covered disconnected art samples. Not a good look.

Love me some ink. I have a full sleeve on my right arm shoulder to wrist, a few on my left arm, chest tats, hand tats, wedding ring tat. I'm ready to finish the sleeve on my left arm and then want a full mural back piece.
