I had a good tournament limit today about 12-13 lbs. Those were my best two caught first thing this AM on a crankbait. The big one is 18" and his brother was a little over 17". Couldn't catch em after 10AM on the crankbait, but they started hitting the jig! Still can't figure out where the largemouth have gone. Tried in vain to catch em again today with no luck.......

nice spots. did you catch em on the bluffs. the only luck i've had for largemouth on mitchell during the winter is grass edges with a t rig finesse worm. Usually sapphire blue. Sometimes you can catch a mixed bag on deep creek walls where wood and rock meet. I love fishin mitchell. wink

Were you out there today? We were and it was TOUGH!!! I have had more luck shooting craps than fishing Mitchell. Once again, I didn't catch my first and only fish until 10:30 on a crankbait. I have a Red/White Charger boat, maybe you saw it.....?

Took a little over 13 to win ours and our big fish was caught in my boat.... but it wasn't me. 3.63

I wasn't out there today. My son's bday party was Saturday.

I got the same report from our club. They said it was tough. All I can tell you is that they were biting Friday! Our tourney was big fish split into two weigh ins: 3+ won the first weigh in and 4.0 won the second.

Cool. I have seen the old mines listed on some maps of the area. I hunt the WMA from the boat sometimes. Lots of schist and mica in the area which would lead one to believe that there might be gold there as well. I don't think they ever found any though......
