Labs are actual lung in the top 10 of attackers. One was recent
Would this be attributed to just the shear number of labs that people have as pets? One of the most popular breeds... I'm guessing so, yes. Most of these "polls"/rankings aren't per-capita....they're just gross numbers. That also helps the pit numbers. They’re called pits as half bred or even less. There’s a lot of those around. Pits are bred with serious attributes like others as well. Like James mentioned chows do worry me. Seems they’re conniving all the time Conniving is right! My uncle had one that would sit on the first step of the porch, amd somedays she'd let ya pass and somedays she wouldn't! I swear I think we just was entertainment for her 🤣

Bad deal. I've raised many of them in my day and mine were all great dogs. Only dog i had that i wouldn't trust around a kid was a Rottweiler i had when i was younger. Now I'll tell what dog I've hated since i was a kid and that's a damn Chow, y'all can have them SOBs. I was sitting at the vet in lucedale and this big Ol' Woman walks in with a Chow named "King" and you could tell they weren't to happy with that because they got the muzzle out because of past encounters with the dog. Anyways she got a little closer to me and that SOB started growling at me (and the dumbass made no attempt to move) i looked down at Shooter and he was staring at me and i said easy boy, i told that lady hey! You better move on over and get that damn dog away from us or the King there is gonna be like Elvis Presley. She looks at me whats you means? He's named after MLK i says ok well he's gonna be like MLK then! Guess she figured it out because she moved her and her dogs butt 🤭 I hate Chows.

People these days raise their dogs like they did their children...terribly.

The ladies killed up his way were killed by a pack of mixed pits. The 2nd lady was as killed investigating the first attack. My wife knew her from the gym. Most pit attacks are actually mixed with.
Chows I’ve never heard of attacking their own but others supposedly fiercely loyal

We had a Dalmatian when I was growing up. Thing was always squirrely. Loved us family, but other people not so much. It's never been proven, but word on the street was Dad took it for a walk while me and my Sister were at school. Sadly it ran off.
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I won't get into the pit debate but will share a fact. Why are labs in the top 10 of all dog bite cases? Is it because they are inherently bad? No it's because they are one of the most popular breeds of dogs, so there are tons of them out there. It's kind of like saying there are more car crashes in Ford F series trucks than any other car in America. Is it because they are unsafe? No it's because they are the most popular truck in America. I will second the Dalmatian, I've never seen a well tempered one. If you look through the records at my clinic I'd say you have equal lab and pit population and about as many lab-pit mixes

I think pitbulls being one of the most common breeds has much to do with the number of attacks. They are also the most common breed for someone who knows nothing about dogs to rescue.
A pitbull is similar to any bully breed, a competent owner is required for that dog to be safe. Most people who get a doberman or a German shepherd put effort into training their dog. In all my years of moving furniture, nothing scared me more than a poorly trained German shepherd, but those are not common.

I totally agree that a bad owner can attribute to a dog's bad behavior, but with pitbulls it's like playing with a loaded pistol. Why do they run thoroughbred horses at all the horse races. Why do they use begals to hunt rabbits, why do coonhunters mainly use walkers, redbones, black and tans, and such, because that's what they where bred to do. It's in the animals DNA to run fast, or to have a good nose, or the natural instincts to want to hunt. Pitbull is no different. They where originally bred to fight and kill bulls for sport. They are kill dogs, pure and simple, it's in their muscler makeup, their powerful jaws, and most importantly it's in their DNA, their instinct to do what they where bred to do. Have any of y'all ever watched any of the videos where they hunt wild boar with a pack of hounds? They hounds will eventually bay the boar up and when the hunters get to where the boar is, they will turn the pitbull loose on it, and that pitbull will jump on that wild boar with zero fear. Now if some people out there wants to trust that type of dog around anyone they love, well that's just insane to me.
