Was blessed by the Lord above to connect on a decent 9 point this afternoon.

He is at least a 3-1/2 year old deer.

I'll get jawbone aged later.

Weighed 177 lbs.

16-1/2" inside spread.

The 9th point, the kicker on the rear left base, is 2-1/2" long.

Not the best buck I have ever killed but the first one in a while as I did not kill one last season.

I'm thankful for a fun hunt this afternoon with Sadie pup by my side and for meat in the freezer.

Did 8 hours of hang time up at Bankhead Friday before last. Hit up a local WMA today and found some promising buck sign. Saw a couple does, but it was buck only today. Hoping I can contribute to the points total, but it's been damn tough this year.

Congrats on the buck!! All I’ve killed so far is hogs. 2 more yesterday. Our better bucks don’t show until mid January. Hopefully I’ll stick a doe soon.

Hunted this afternoon after the storms got out of here. Temps were a lot cooler. I saw 14 deer this afternoon, 4 bucks, 6 does, and 4 small deer. They were moving well and feeding. Nothing I was interested in shooting at the moment.

I wanted to hunt but the rain didn’t leave till after dark here.

Hunted Mulberry today. Saw about 1000 squirrels. No deer.

I've put in probably 20 hours on public and haven't seen anything worth shooting. I'm keeping after it, though. Good luck to everyone!

Two nights two new bucks at the house. All hell bout to break loose around here. Just wish the temps were gonna be cooler.

Our rut is wide open right now. This heat is killing us though. We will be back after them hard Friday thru Tuesday come on cold weather.
