Where is a good place to buy a shooting house in North Alabama. I don’t deer hunt much anymore, but my 4& 5 year olds are wanting to go. I figure at least a 4x6 and 5x6 might be better. Probably need to elevate it 5’ or so where I want to put it. Definitely needs windows as they take after their Momma and talk every breath lol.

Thanks

Sportsman’s Condo SC-2 would be a nice option for you. As high as lumber has gotten the SC prices aren’t looking so bad.

If you get a blind, be sure to get some sort of shooting tripod to help them steady a gun.

I’ll throw in a vote for sportsman’s condo. Don’t own one but been in them. No seams for leaks and have windows. Make sure you carpet or put in floor mats for that age kids to move around. They won’t sit in chairs the whole time..

I will be lucky to keep them inside the shooting house, much less in a chair lol. Thanks for the suggestion, looks like our coop carries them.

I bought a Stump 3 blind last year and it’s nice. If I had it when my two were small it would’ve saved them a fair amount of troubles 😂

And lumber prices have made them a lot more affordable for sure.

For flooring in a sp condo just get a stall mat from tractor supply.

Some of those stall mats carry a strong smell for a long time in my experience. Just my 2 cents

I bought two sportsman’s condos and don’t know why I haven’t done that sooner. Another vote here.

Those sportsman condos are 800.00 which is close to what a shooting house might cost, but the bigger one i(for two people) is 1800.00. That seems high.
I’d like to try one this year, but will the 800.00 one fit two people?

Its an hours drive for you, but there is a business beside the fairgrounds in Muscle Shoals-I cant remember the name-but they have several set up now waiting for a new owner. The owners are my friends and are super good folks. They have ties to Tri-Green/John Deere and have several mowers and tractors on their lot also making them very easy to find. Every time I have dealt with them, they have been the best price around. Ask for Sue if you drop by and price the ones she has.

Here's a comparison of all the condos. This site was one of the better places to buy, shipping was reasonable, but now they no longer ship them and prices have gone up. I bought an sc5 from them a couple months ago and now the price to go to Mississippi and pick it up is more than I paid for it shipped to my door. I bought 2 of the sc3 yesterday locally for 1220 each, but they said next ones were going up about 100. To answer globes question, from my experience, the sc2 and 3 are comfortable for an adult and kid, I even had 2 kids with me in my sc3's for many years and was crowded but worked fine , especially when 1 was asleep on the floor most of the time. Now that my boys are grown, we can still sit in the 3's, but it is tight. I consider the sc3 the perfect size for a 1 person house, big enough to move around and have a heater without bumping into the walls, but small enough to see and shoot out of all the windows withou having to change position. The sc5 is just enough bigger to be comfortable with 2 adults. However, I am 6'4" and 285 to give you some idea of my perspective.

Sportsman condos are great units. Anchor them good and they’ll last a lifetime.

Man, I’ll tell you what. I have material left over from a few house projects. Come to Arab with a trailer and we will build two of them. You leave with one for cost of labor. Sound good?

If coonhunter isn’t close enough then offer stands for anyone else. If more material is needed we can split that.

PM me for more info and contact

They’re not that expensive. The two person units right now are running about $1600 including a millennium chair, carpet, and anchors. I can pick up the two man blinds right now for under $1500 with all that included. Take the bare house with the metal frame stand and you can buy one for $1300-$1400. Those $1800 units are specialty units for multiple large adults and/or special uses.

If you want one for two people the SC-2 or Prohunter is what you need.

My SC2 is more than 10 years old and still going. Now they’re fancy with windows and improved design. You can’t go wrong with Sportsman’s Condo. thumbup
