Gonna be living off these for a couple weeks in September and bought a few to try ahead of time. What are your favorites and what are ones you’d avoid?

I like the Lasagna the best, followed by Beef Stroganoff, Chicken and Dumplings. Any of the "eggs" breakfast are not good.

chili-mac. stroganoff, also. i'm sure you know they are expensive, and for anyone with much of an appetite, one bag for a meal is a must. ain't no way there's enough in one bag to share after a hard day ...

Agree with lasagna and biscuits and gravy.
I used to love stroganoff but ate too much one trip and can't stand it now.

If you have a vacuum sealer, you may want to consider making your own "just add water" meals. Some of those Mountain House meals blow through me like cheap liquor [specifically, the Chili Mac could double for a pre-colonoscopy cleanse]. Making your own can save you a pile of money, give you the flavor you want, and the quantity that you need/prefer.
If I do have to eat them, my favorites are chicken & rice, lasagna & meat sauce, and the beef stew.
***Seriously, the Chili Mac should come with a warning label.

Gut bombs call those along with MRE,s. I love em but I try to stay away from the tomato sauced ones. Those usually are the most painful later

the biscuits and gravy breakfast is good
I second that. It’s actually really good and I like the stroganoff as well.

Might I suggest Peak Refuel, instead. Sure, I’m open to any recommendation. I’ve just heard mountain house was good and ready wise was nasty so was starting there. I’ve also heard I could do my own but not sure how to do that. Yes, I have a vacuum sealer

I’ve also heard I could do my own but not sure how to do that. Yes, I have a vacuum sealer The chicken and rice one was delicious. I fixed it to try it and my stove(MSR Reactor) out. Everyone that tried it loved it. The stove worked very well, too. Lol I believe the Peak Refuel has less sodium. Heather’s Choice(HC) is another one I see mentioned a good bit as another healthier option. However, I don’t have any experience with the HC brand.
