My daughter asked me last night if she could go turkey hunting this morning. I told her of course she could. She’s killed several deer, but has never shown any interest in turkey. She didn’t want to shoot, just go with me. I had plans to hunt at the club, and hike a long way. But since she wanted to go, I decided to take her to a piece of private I can hunt. Only heard one bird off the roost gobble one time, and I wasn’t sure exactly where. After fly down time, I had to wake her up and tell her we were going to walk a ways to where I thought that bird might be. Got a good ways, and struck him. After 3 different set ups, and her getting us busted by a hen cause she had a bug on her pants, I finally got in a place I thought I could kill him. She was about 5 feet behind me on another tree. I had him worked up when I heard “Daddy, I’ve got to pee”. I whispered back over my shoulder while he is drumming less than 60 yards away “you’re going to have to hold it. He is right here.” Less than 3 minutes later.... it was over. I’ve killed many a turkey, and a lot with some good folk, but this was by far the best partner I’ve shared one with. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/A0DOa1q.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/xUNO6bB.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/hD46lsk.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/AKGE3r1.jpg)
Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas: sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

Daughters are always good luck charms ---- Raise them up . . . they will not depart from it.
