I have one. It is good for a few rooms. If you want to clean your whole house you are gonna need a few. It works good for the price and what it is

That’s what I needed to know.

I’ve got about 1300ft of hardwood in the living room, formal dining room, breakfast room and kitchen. Those are the only tools it will be able to get to. I want sure how that would work for my area.

Thanks!

The more stuff you have the harder time it has navigating around everything. I've come home before and to find it stuck inside all the dining room chairs with the battery dead. Maybe they are better now. Heck If they have an autonomous 18 wheeler that can drive all the way from California to Pennsylvania surely to God they can make a decent robot vacuum.

We have two, and my wife loves them, or the idea of them anyway. They get stuck more times than not, and rarely run for a full charge or make it back to their base. When they are running they do pick dirt up. I think they are pretty much worthless, and think the thought of something cleaning the house everyday is what my wife finds appealing, even though it rarely gets the job done.

I agree with what Irish is saying, if all you had was a wide open room, they would be great. The more stuff there is to navigate around, the less effective they become. They have models that are very advanced and “learn” your house, but ours is a mid-range model and I can’t tell you how they would work out.

We have the Shark brand
It does a very good job and runs for a long time before it has to dock

We have an older dumb roomba. It just bounces around everywhere. We have two rugs. The short nap rug it will over heat and stop on, the longer rug it clans just fine. Works real well on the wood floors. I would spend the money and get a smart one when this one breaks.

We have a Eufy brand that I got from Amazon for <$200, works great. Wife says it's probably the best Christmas gift I ever gave her. We have a white lab that sheds like nobody's business and some cats in the house. We just run it when we want to and don't use the fancy settings, If it's been a couple days may have to stop and empty it a few times but it is well worth it. Using it for pretty much the same size area with an open floor plan as you.

Just don't sit and watch it. It will drive you crazy how it goes over the same spot 11ty billion times.

I bought one, it works, but not to my liking, as it doesn't seem efficient.
I could of got the vacuum out and vacuumed the same area quicker.

Can't use the auto clean/timer due to the motion sensors of the house alarm when we are gone.

It does ok, when I think to use it.

Not sure I'd buy one again.

God Bless,
David B.

We have a Eufy off amazon and the wife loves it. If you have dogs you’ll have to empty it a couple times before it can do the whole area.

My FIL bought my MIL the newest one for Christmas. So I am pretty sure we will get the older one my MIL has... I guess I will report back after Christmas when we take ownership of the older one grin

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

We have a Shark brand. We have carpet, hardwood and tile, it does good on all three types of flooring. Very good for getting under the couches and along baseboards to pick up pet hair. If it goes missing, it is almost always under the dresser in our bedroom. It will go under and then get wedged under a decorative piece on the end trying to come out.

My dog's vet had a Roomba givaway / promo this summer. One of the winners set it up and went to work. When the Roomba came on, it literally scared the crap out of the dog in the house. The dog crapped everywhere and the Roomba spread it and rubbed it into the carpet real good!

We have my old retired duck dog living in the house. A black lab will shed a lot of hair. My wife says it is the best Christmas gift ever. The pros: turn the thing on when you leave and it will sweep the floor, it picks up tons of hair every time it runs, and I don't have to listen to my wife run the damn vacuum cleaner several times a week. The cons: It will get stuck and we have to play "find the Roomba" a lot. My conclusion is that our house is cleaner with much less effort. Wife is happy too.

You are taking your life in your hands when you buy your wife household appliances for gifts. Do so tactfully or suffer the consequences of celibacy.

Get the I7+ its has more power and mapping. It also dumps itself. It charges and goes right back where it left off. That's what I'm getting my wife for Christmas.

Have a roomba to do the hardwood floors in the main living area/kitchen in the house. Don't really use it for the bedrooms. Used to have to sweep dust bunnies every day. Haven't pulled the broom out in a year thanks to Roomba.

Best gift ever.
