We used to take pledges out to the forest. Does that count? You were a frat boy? At one point I guess. Was fun back then

AUstan23 do you have any pictures of that 9 point?
Tuskegee has a faceybook page and everybody has been posting bucks on it. There were several bucks last year killed out there. Anybody seen this? No. He had a tall rack with short tines but he was a grown ass man. Like I said. No matter where you hunt, see for yourself. There's not many 4 year old bucks but they're there in pockets.

I killed 14 deer there in 3 years at school including a few little bucks, a 6, 2 8s, and a 200# 9 point. I know every bedding area on and around that property. I took multiple friends out there to kill deer who wanted to learn. None of any of the chit y'all are describing ever happened. One time guys ran dogs and I saw 17 does that morning, then reported them to the ranger. My point for anyone asking anything about any property, just don't. If you wanna hunt somewhere then see it for yourself and decide because no one ever gives a straight answer save maybe JD on here.
Congrats on your success out there but you didn’t answer the OP’s question either. He asked if there was any public pressure on the national forest yet? That’s why I was sarcastic in my first response because asking if a piece of public land is pressured in Alabama is like asking if a fat kid likes cake. I assume if gets pressured pretty heavily but you know it better than anybody so answer the man 😀

That’s why I was sarcastic in my first response because asking if a piece of public land is pressured in Alabama is like asking if a fat kid likes cake. I assume if gets pressured pretty heavily but you know it better than anybody so answer the man 😀 I stated everything else everyone was saying was not true including the pressure regardless of time of year. Even if a piece is heavily pressured, doesn't mean you can't kill deer there. You know that just as well as I do if you're killing all those bucks on public. Do you honestly think anyone is going to give a straight answer on here? According to every forum I've followed you'd think there are 5 trucks at every gate every day of the week in every state. Of course that is on purpose to discourage people. That's why I say I don't care so much about asking. I look for myself and take every piece of info with a grain of salt. If you listened to every frat boy at AU then you'd think that there were no deer out there.

I grew up in Auburn and still live here. Everything that has been said can be the case. I’ve killed deer out there, I’ve had my truck broke into, Ive walked up into someones pot garden out there, and have had several trucks parked at gates, and my buddy had all four tires punctured one time when we went out to bike bartram. So, everything that has been stated can be, and often is, the case. Go during the week and later in the season, and you may not see anyone else. As AU said, you can kill deer. You just have to scout it. It isn’t any worse than any other public area. My biggest complaint was always someone hiking, camping, or doing some other non-hunting activity that would mess me up. It didn’t happen often and they had as much right to be there as me. I learned to stay away from certain areas fairly quickly.
If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.
