Peed in a scrape and watched buck's work it. Spit dip out the stand and watched deer smell it. Smoke all my clothes and have deer come down wind. Smoke rules- Y'all stop this debate

I pee out of my stand and I shoot a sickly doe every other year.
I’m told a large, widemouth Gatorade bottle is best “pee jug” if you want to tote your pee out.

I am a very heavy coffee drinker, and usually will need to go a couple of times during a morning hunt. I always carry quart sized freezer Zip-Lock bags with me each hunt. I just pee in the Baggie and close the zip lock back up. I have even laid the bags over the toes of my boots on really cold mornings. I always go overboard on keeping scent to a minimum, and this may be excessive, but it does work for me. If you don't think a 5 year old deer is smarter than you are, you will never kill one. To each his own.

PS-I was talking with John Sloan years ago about scent control. He swore he ate Mexican food before a 4 day hunt and the pain hit while in the tree. He waited as long as he could and had to go immediately as he climbed down to the ground. He had just taken care of his business and a mature buck comes in down wind with his nose in the air. He followed the scent until John pulled the trigger. He went back two more times to that same tree and killed two more mature deer coming to the scent. He told us if he could get that scent in a jar, he would be worth billions! Whether this was true, or just an outdoor writer making conversation, you can decide.

I peed on a spikes head and he just thought it was raining.

ever have one bust on you lol Gatorade or Powerade both have wide screw off caps I keep an empty one in my pack but usually dont need it. I usually just go by the truck but if ive been drinking coffee i try not to piss in the woods Folgers scented urine probably isnt a normal scent in the woods.

I've known John for 25 years and I'd likely think his stand selection and deciding when to hunt (based on wind, weather) probably played a greater role than his Salsa Scent.

Deer are curious creatures and don't automatically run three counties away if they smell something amiss. Human waste may smell like a coyote's nasty chit to them. Who knows? I don't believe peeing from a stand makes a whit's difference and never have taken bottles, bags or anything. If I need to pee, I pee. I wouldn't poop around a stand unless absolutely necessary but I don't think it would ruin the area if I did.

If you know John, he is up in years now. He was a great writer and made good money talking on the deer show circuit. I really miss seeing a lot of those guys from back in the day. I always saw him in Birmingham at the Deer Classic and he could tell some tales. The story about the Mexican supper made me laugh, but who knows, it may have been just made up. The funny part is, he got paid to tell that tale! He told us "when you gotta go, GO."

Got a good friend that kills Boone and crocket bucks in northwest Alabama. He pisses and takes giant dumps in every scrape he finds. He was bowed up crapping in a scrape on a 17 degree morning and boooom just like that a 165” 10 pt almost ended his life. 🤫

I'd make a helluva mess trying to keep piss in a ziplock bag with out stepping on it, coming unsealed or dropping it and having it explode like a water balloon. Lol

The Gatorade bottles are my preferable

If I got to pee I pee. I ain't toting pee. Not sure how a deer knows it's human pee anyway. But I'll bet they smell the ground scent where you are standing to pee.

I whiz right out of the stand or climber. No issues.I pee in scrapes when I pass by late season.No idea what it does, but I have never seen scrapes abandoned over it.Figured once it hits the ground its just urea, not influenced by what I ate or drank.

I'm not sure if piss bothers a deer or not. Probably doesn't but I piss in a bottle and throw it away when I come out of the woods.

I drink apple cider beers exclusively for this reason. I pee on purpose in the woods. I use it as a attractant. It brings them in.

I drink vodka the night before I go hunting. My deer are alcoholics and when they smell it they think it's happy hour
