I understand why you have a hard time believing he was that old. He's not. He's not even half way to 8 IMO. With no history or other jawbones from that specific property and not knowing soil type, I'd say he was a 3 yr old based on just that one picture of the jawbone and typical wear exhibited in Bama. Soil type can and does affect tooth wear but I'd say with 70-80% certainty, that came from a 3 yr old.

He said it was cause it had a weird brow like the one he killed. Very well could have been a son but not the same deer.

Ill show you a jawbone of a deer I believe is 4.5 that came from my property this year as soon as I get the euro finished. These deer are eating the same thing cause they lived less than 2 miles apart.

Nope - not even close - it can be difficult to age if the animal lives in a sandy soil area, but in this case. Those are not the teeth of an 8-year old. Deer Aging
