Yea they are running straight across our property, across our neighbors and then catching them on the road.I’m not going to shoot dogs, but comments from dog hunters about us bitching and being whiners, convinces me talking to dog hunters isn’t the solution. I’ll catch their dogs and get the game warden to cite them. 3 Times And their done for the season. If I was a dog hunter, I would bend over backwards to keep my dogs off someone’s land. You can tell from comments here, they don’t care. This is why dog hunting will eventually end. I used to be a person to believe we should try and co exsist, not anymore.
Now, I promise, I’m out✊✊ SLM Stillhunter Lives Matter

Skidboot, I will tell how we fixed that problem when we had it. Go to Walmart and buy a few big bags of cheap dog food and dump in the area where they turn the dogs loose. After the dogs find the food they will head there everytime they turn them out. The dog hunters around our place got so pissed at us for that they actually came to our camp and asked us to stop feeding their dogs. I told them I was feeding the nieghbors old barn dog and that I couldn't control what their dogs did. You recognize those words? We would get back from hunting and would have a whole pack of hounds just laying in the yard. We can play games too. I refused to bow down and kiss a dog hunters sorry arse.

My thought on the matter is no matter if it does or doesn't mess up deer hunting, if the owner/leaser of the land doesn't want his neighbor's dogs on his land he has the right to do something about it. Especially if he has asked them to keep their dogs away before.

Hoggin, we have their dogs on our property. I feel that disrupts MY hunting, regardless of what deer we kill. I’ve been around several dog clubs during the years. I’ve never had one that respected others peoples hunting rights as much as their own. Ive been around a lot of hunters over the years and no one has any rights but tha one talking. I just hate how increasingly no one should have right to the edge of their property, no one should own a dog or have one within 20 mile of a patch of trees no one should drive by a road close to your property during daylight, neighbors don't have rights to shoot guns on their property for fun during season at all, or talk to friends on the back porch louder than a whisper I HUNT so you have no right in hell to disturb, inconvenience or annoy me So you would have no problem with me pulling up to your house or places of businesses, parking on the street and letting my 15 dogs out and let them run all over your yard, in your house or your shops? That's what it's sounding like to me. If you wouldn't mind people doing that to you, you are a way better man than me. Don't be completely stupid and read what I said. I believe a little common sense would go a long way and I was pretty clear about my thoughts on people intentionally disrespecting others rights. You can can absolutely come turn your 15 dogs out on my property just refer back to what my thoughts were on what to do if caught intentionally doing so

I actually talked to a club last weekend about joining a dog club. It’s been a long time since I was in one. The only way the club gets their rights pulled is if they are in a permit county. If in a permit county they must have 1000 contiguous acres to run and if their dogs are caught 3 times in that season they loose their dog Hunting permit and it may or may not ever be reissued. If I the clubs really want to keep their dogs up they use tracking collars to know where they are and can tone them off before they cross the line. Unfortunately a lot of clubs prefer to try and kill the deer when it crosses the next rd usually on the other side of the neighbors property. A lot of dog clubs are their own worst enemies and will be the reason a really fun sport dies.

FYI. I can’t shoot a dog and won’t allow other members to do it.
There's your problem right there. Either shoot em or keep putting up with the BS. ↑↑↑↑↑ This. Unfortunately it will be the only solution.

There's your problem right there. Either shoot em or keep putting up with the BS. Yea, that will get you no where. BY the way, that is a very serious offence in Alabama if caught by the owners. Just try one and see. Dogs do what dogs do, it is the owners who need to be held accountable.

Just try one and see. I can't ever remember a deer dogs owner come running by me in the woods hot on the tail of his dog. He'd have to be some kind of fast to expect to witness his dog being shot. Or some kind of stupid one.

It took me a few years but I finally stopped dogs from running on my lease in TN. You just gotta be persistent.

Good conversation. I relate to both sides. I just wanna add. To the person asking how they'd know. If you shoot one of my crews dogs. We gonna use the GPS and when we figure out what happened. I can promise the police getting called. Probably by the shooter. The best outcome for him is if they get there quick , and all he gets is a felony.
My deer hunting crew is a different story though. Some won't invest the time or getting the technology. But in the very short future, they'll have to have things up to par or they can keep they're dogs in a pen. Hunting is getting smaller for everyone.

Deer hunting is expensive, either, leasing land or a club. I feel if I pay for the right to hunt legally, everyone should respect my right to hunt. Whether you think deer leave or dogs don't bother deer is irrelevant. If I'm on my club or lease, I'm not infringing on your hunting. All dog hunting has to be shut down, so be it. Like it or not it's a form of poaching. In the military you are taught, one mans rights end where another man's rights begin. I don't care how you hunt as long as you don't screw with mine.

Many years ago two buddies and I were hunting some private land with climbers and some guys were running dogs on the property to the west. Never seen or heard such a production. CB radios blaring, dogs barking, trucks racing up and down the roads, guys yelling, shooting, total chaos. The dogs went the other way and the three of us get an 8 pt, 7 pt and 6 pt that morning, great hunt. On the way out the doggers were standing the friggin road and there were about 25 guys in trucks, etc and we stopped and showed them our deer. They had one spike between the 25 or so of them. My buddy said, "all that commotion and that's all you got? hahaha". We still laugh about that one.

Better hope he doesn't end up dead for shooting a man's dog. I know for a fact I'd kill a man over my squirrel dog
We will burn that bridge when we get there

We have a neighbor that does all of the above and it's aggravating but it is what it. Nothing we can do about it. Oh and I didn't intentionally turn my dogs out on your property, I turned them out on the street and because dogs do what they do they ended up on your property.
