My daughter is looking for a CCP. I have shared with her most the the recommendation on here. She teaches with a lady that has a 9MM SCCY/CPX. i told her I have never heard of them but am sure since the knowledge on this website is off the charts, I will find out something, good or bad.

At one time the company to my knowledge was the only one offering a theft warranty. Send them a police report and they'll send you a new gun. I believe they did away with that under threat from the ATF.

It is supposed to be a good budget gun. But that said there are better options out there in my opinion.

Ive actually read pretty good reviews on them. Uncle has one and he likes it, but he hasn't owned a ton to compare them to.

I sell a lot of them. They still have a lifetime transferable warranty, but like AU7MM08 said, they've done away with the fire loss/theft warranty. I've only had to take one back and send it to the manufacturer. Sccy paid for sending it to them, and I had a fixed gun in a weeks time. My customers seem to like them for the price.

I'd say no auto's for most women. Most would freak or drop it if it jams. I wouldn't want a revolver, but for a woman yes.

I bought my wife a bodyguard 380. She really likes it. I have a 40cal smith & wesson, she don't like it, a bit too substantial. But the bg 380 doesn't overwhelm her at all. Pretty dang accurate too, out to about 60 yards or so. Easily fit in a purse.

A woman with a jammed auto is defenseless. Most compact autos only carry 6 in a clip. The Ruger carries 5. Big difference(NOT REALLY). And most gunfights happen within ten ft. No one says give me our wallet when they are 20 ft away. The Ruger that is built like a SW bodyguard comes with a laser too. One that comes on when the pistol is gripped, not a turn on switch. Revolvers don't jam. A jammed auto is only a lite weight hammer at best.

Accurate to 60 yards? You mean 60 feet?

I have to agree with Perch on this one. I bought my wife a small auto, but she couldn't work the slide, so we had to go a different direction.

Since then I have taken note of a few other women at the range, and have noted quite a few who can't or can just barely cycle the slide. If you can't chamber a round, or clear a jam, you don't need to carry it.

SCCY is a good gun for the money. I bought my wife one to keep in the car. I have ran about 500 reds through it with no problem. Even put the laser on it. The designer worked for keltec before starting up this company. Very basic on function and so far reliable.

I have shoot one and like it.

As for a women and guns, you guys need to not lump everyone in together. My wife and several other members' wives on here can out shoot some of your men with a pistol. It has nothing to do with the sex of the person with the gun, it has to do with practice and knowledge.

I didn't lump anyone. I said some women. A woman has to be familiar and that comes with lots of practice.

I never said all women either. I said my wife, and some other women I have seen lack the strength to work the slide on an auto. I never made any reference to marksmanship.

A quality small revolver is in no way a second tier defensive firearms.

You can't beat a good revolver. I feel they are safer; seems you here of more accidents with autos. People seem to loose track of if a round is chambered; sounds silly but they do. Revolvers are just simpler to use for the person who doesn't shoot a lot or novice. I would recommend a S&W 38 feather weight.

I mean I can hit a 12 inch target with it every time at 60yards not feet. In other words, if you were 60yards away, I could shoot you in the chest, no problem. Not talking about a 1inch group at 60 yards. I would call that accurate. I'm not a sharpshooter.
