Trying to get into trapping this season and I'm very new to it and know absolutely nothing about it other than what I read from you guys on here. So here's my question/situation: I have a piece of property that I have permission to hunt/trap and I've been getting a bobcat on camera the last couple of months and I've seen lots of tracks and feathers and fur he leaves behind. So obviously I want to catch him, what is the best set to catch a bobcat and what is the best lure/bait to attract a bobcat? The only issue is that I have dogs with collars on camera also so would they be attracted to bobcat urine and get caught in the set because I don't want to piss the neighbors off. Thanks for any and all advice you guys can throw my way.

Any set you make is gonna catch the dogs if they come through! No way to avoid them. Best bet is to let the neighbors know what you're doing and ask them to keep the dogs pinned up for a while.

Cat's are a lot more forgiving than coyotes! Flashy sets, big dirt holes or even sets with flagging like feathers or Christmas tensil hanging above them will work. Any lure or bait or combo will work.

Old VCR and/or cassette tape works decent too.
