She was angled away from me I try to put it in the last rib but shot a lttle right and hit her in the left butt cheek as she limp off I could see my arrow and I thought I not gonna find this deer I gave her 3 hours to lay then stared tracking had good blood I trackd her bout 250 yrds till I got to some thick stuff it was dark hard to see could not find any more blood and then just when I was a about ready to give up and leave i about steped on her walking out lessons to take from this story is give em plenty of time to lay dont give up and don't shoot em in the butt that helps lol

Periods at the end of sentences helps too. I believe we are dealing with a run on sentence. Shot my first deer with a bow right in the butt. Came back like 2 hours later and it ran maybe 100 yards.

Post a pic of that deer. Buddy of mine shot a hog in rear at dark late last season. It was a cool pic with nock barely sticking out. He went end zone to end zone on that pig.

I've hunted Tara back in 2000 and 2001. What you are referring to are the pods with Anectine in them, which by some crazy circumstance is legal to hunt with in Mississippi. They do not "make" you use them, but would sell you some if you requested them. The drug is very deadly on ungulates and must be injected into a muscle to be effective. It paralyzes their diaphragm, which causes them to suffocate. So if you chose to use it, the ham would be the best target. For those of us that didn't use it, it was business as usual by trying to take out the heart or lungs.
Another myth about Anectine is it being deadly to the hunters. The amount used in the pods is not enough to kill a human. So if by chance you cut yourself with your broadhead and managed to get the drug in the cut, you would stand a better chance of dying from blood loss than the drug. They placed the small end of a balloon on the arrow shaft right behind the broadhead and packed it with a powered form of the drug.

The butt is actually a pretty high percentage kill with the femoral arterie running through it. Congrats! Yep. I can remember when the archers bible used to include the ham shot as a kill shot.
