I know that Labor Day Weekend, is the unofficial food plot planting weekend for about 2/3 of Alabama. Our club always plants plots on Labor Day weekend. Be ye forewarned that year, there is a food plot predator lurking out there in larger numbers than I've ever seen or heard of. Army worms are at plaque like levels all across north and central AL. I don't talk to enough folks in south AL to know what they are doing down there. SO, if you plant on Labor Day weekend, I'd strongly suggest getting a spraying schedule set up from now until mid to late October. Either buy a chemical with a residual or just spray the cheap stuff every 7-10 days. Army worms would easily take out a plot of cereal grains overnight. I have convinced my club to not plant this upcoming weekend and wait a while til they die down a little. Don't worry, I'll be quick to link this post in a few weeks when the "What happened to my food plots?" posts start rolling in.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

We have Navy Worms down here. Similar to Army Worms but they prefer wetter conditions and drink a lot...
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

It finally dried up enough for me to start breaking up our plots today.
83% of all statistics are made up.

2/3 of food plotters plant this weekend? I'm in the minority as I am not planting until around the end of September.
Didn't realize I was so late... but I ain't changing planting dates as late September, for many reasons, works for me.

I meant that as the upper 2/3's of the state as in area, not 2/3's of the clubs.

Last weekend in sept or first weekend in oct. I know how bad they are this year and the heat we are having ain't helping fall plots.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

If they are in Monroe co,I sure hope they eat johnsons grass. With all the rain there and me not being able to go back and spray at the beginning of August I bet it's tall. Was hoping to not have to bush hog so maybe they ate it to the ground.
