Anybody ever do any fishing on the cahaba river in Jefferson or Shelby county?

Use to wade fish it in trussville all the time. Caught some pretty decent fish occasionally.

We used to wade from the police dept. in Trussville back towards Leeds.Caught alot of redyeyes back in the 80's.One particular area called flat rock was really good fishing before you got to the shoals.

I hooked a 5-6# spot that threw my worm before I got him in. A bait bucket full of creek chubs in deep pools weightless works great. You'll catch bass, crappie, cats and gar.

LM Bass, spotted bass, redeye bass. Caught a 3lb1/2oz redeye there in 1974 er so. LM Bass to seven pounds, spots to four pounds. BIG carp, LN Gar, redhorse suckers, BIG shad. Prettiest pumpkinseed bream ya ever saw.

stay away from 280 dam, it used to be full of queers. Good fishing but ya can't lean over to land a fish safely.....

Catch lots of 5-7 lb largemouth in oxbow off the river

When my sons were growing up, we fished the Hoover area of the River. If you caught a LM Bass, Spotted Bass and Redeye Bass in the same trip, you had what we called a Cahaba Slam.

I fish in around the shelby bibb line, good catfishing not many big bass but usually catch pretty good off top water
