Got to the lease this morning and go to my listening spot just as the song birds started up. Had a few birds start gobbling on the roost all but one shut up when they hit the ground, but this one kept hammering. Decided my current set up wasn't going to cut it so I made a big loop around behind him and set up on a big oak flat. Started calling and he was answering good so I just shut up. 30 minutes go by and a crow sets him off just over the crest I shifted a little and clicked the safety off in doing so my face mask slid up on my cheek when I looked up he was looking dead at me. He took one step the way he came and was gone! Decided to go back to my first spot and see if any of the others wanted to play he decides to fire back up at the spot I just left so here goes round two but now he has the high ground on me. Decided to try to call him off the ridge to a field no dice! He stands his ground gobbling like crazy! Round three, circled around the point of the ridge and tried to call him down into a hardwood holler after lots of gobbles I shut up hoping he would drop back of the ridge, when he dropped off I made a dash to where he had been the last two hours. Round 4, got situated and all he would do is walk away and gobble he wound up gobbling from where I was sitting at on round two but he was headed to a power line with a woods road leading to it. Made a very fast maneuver and was waiting on him when he stepped out onto the power line. My first set up was around 6:30 finally pulled the trigger a little after 12.

You earned that one teammate! Great story and beautiful picture.
