Serious question here. Would it be illegal to put out crickets? I figure the crickets would call the turkeys in for you.

Reckon this one would work if cast across a greenfield and reeled slowly back to you? Figured I could save a little money and just try artificial. And this is the hybrid...the "Crickethopper"!!!

Way to much movement, you can stretch a trot line across a greenfield about 4' high, bait with crickets and load the truck. It may be necessary to check it twice a day for the first couple weeks until you thin them out some

When I was a kid I had a good buddy who's grandfather was a trapper and around Thanksgiving would set out trot lines with very small treble hooks and bait it with popcorn. He would sell the cleaned turkeys to half the people in the county!!!
