Few reasons why below - I see too many - and snake boots help me stay focused on whatever I'm doing - work or hunting.

Yep every time I step in the woods or fields mid march to mid November, and any other time if it feels snakey out. Like it was a couple days this El Niņo warmed winter.

I've had snake boots before but I ended up switching to the crackshot snake guards. They easily adjust to go over my knee high rubber boots or tighten them up when I'm wearing my steel toe hiking boots. They are also much cooler. I'm constantly climbing on and off the tractor and most snake boots don't have much foot support.

I wear them pretty often after I nearly got struck by a rattler I walked up on along a fence line; his rattles had been broken off so he couldn't warn me. It was mid-day & I was wearing running shoes. He was a big'un, measuring over 5' long. When its warm, I'm in my snake boots.

When I grew up and decided that maybe I wasn't snakeproof anymore I bought snakeboots and wear them anytime I am not in a well groomed yard! As may snakes that I pulled out of my pool (when I had it), I might should have worn snakeboots in my well groomed yard too!

I wear them because they keep the chiggers and ticks from crawling up the inside of your pants leg and you don't get trash over in them like you would a pair of tall rubber boots. Just easier to tuck you pants legs into.

Plus you don't have to watch out for snakes.

I don't wear them. I like the idea but have just never found a pair that fit well and weren't so dang hot. Like others have said I've read a lot of bad reviews on them leaking too. I guess all those negatives are still better than the alternative but for now, lacrosse grange are about all I wear on flat ground.

On my 2nd pair and brand. Have yet to find some that stay waterproof or the liner doesn't pull out after 45 days of use.

I wear them all the time in AL and FL. Had too many close calls with cottonmouths hunting Big Cypress. Haven't seen as many up north but wearing boots keeps you safe in case you miss spotting that cottonmouth, copperhead or rattler. They're hot and need to be broken in but after break in they're comfortable and an insurance policy. Why take a chance.

I've been turkey hunting for right at 20 years and I can remember seeing a total of 4 snakes during turkey season in those 20 years. I don't wear them.

I am far more concerned about getting bitten by a cottonmouth while wade fishing small creeks.

you have to look DOWN to see em, they are shorter than Shaw is..... grin

First time I hunted Texas the outfitter told me they didn't have any rattlesnakes on his place. I killed TWO the first morning, both right at four feet long. I asked him if he ever looked down while walking around.....

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....
