I have seen a lot of debate about true effectiveness of scent killer like 3-D Evolve, etc.. Field and Stream has done a couple of tests involving scent killer's effectiveness going against the nose of a K9. They concluded it has no effect. Feedback?

Dead Down Wind is a product founded by a medical company. In its primary form it was to destroy the odor of rotting flesh in hospitals. Get some and test it yourself. Cut an onion and spray your hand afterwards. You will be a believer then. Hunt safe

Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!

Nothing works to kill scent completely. Just need to fool the deer for a moment. All you can do. A cover scent is much better. Hard to eliminate odor. You produce it all the time. You would have to sit in a vate of it in your tree. Hunt with a good cover and the wind and you will be successful. I use a washing machine for all my gear that has only had all clear used in it for its entire life. Manage the scent of the chit you take with you and bathe in antimicrobial soap. I use Shines White Oak acorn for cover.

I sprayed Shine's out this past Saturday on a bush 30 yds. out where the field meets the woods. Two does walked out of the woods at the exact spot where the Shine's was. They both spooked after about 10 seconds and crossed into the other side of the woods. HS scent wafers earth scent works decent as a cover too.

Nothing works 100%. That is why I call it scent reduction not scent elimination. My goal is to be maximally scent reduced and then strictly obey the wind on top of that. Scent sprays like DDW, Scent Killer, etc. are a major part of my scent reduction regimen. I never leave home with out it.

Here we go again. Just because something eliminates odor, to the point that we can't smell it doesn't mean animals can't smell it. We have a terrible sense of smell. A dog can find dope submerged in a gas tank. Dogs are used to find arsonists. Dogs can smell cancer cells in humans. Deer have a better nose than dogs. Do you really think that some manmade liquid is going to make any difference? How do you know the deer can't smell the scent killer? Gimmick to rob people of their money.

I think they would be more aptly named, scent reducers. I don't know why they can get away with calling them scent eliminators.
