I am looking for a 4x4 Toyota with a manual transmission. Prefer an extended cab but would take a regular cab. Looking for something in the neighborhood of 4,000 to 5,000 price range that doesn't have 300,000 miles. I'm not having much luck locating one in my area or on Craigslist so I figured I would put it out there and see if any of you guys could help.
Thanks.

The mileage you are looking for in the price range you are looking in will not exist in the South. Sorry, but the Tacomas are out of sight when it comes to pricing. Most folks dont talk trade until they reach at least 200,000.

I had one with 265,000 that was as solid as the day it was built. I got a heck of a price for it and it is still on the road today at over 350,00 miles. No major work has been done on it either. Just good, solid, long lasting trucks.

Make sure to choose a color you like cause you are going to live with it for a long time.

I can't stand a thief.

Shed Master - PM back to you.

Teacher One- Thanks for the info. I've owned several Toyotas. They are tough trucks.

Hallb- I'm trying to avoid those 3.0 V6's. Just went through an ordeal with one that left a bad taste. Thanks anyway.

Bustinbeards- Thanks for the info.

then you need to find an older 4cyl with the 22R/RE motor

The 3.0 V6 had LOTS of head gasket troubles. The 3.4 = V6 is usually a 300k motor if taken care of! I had a 3.0 v6 in a 94 4runner . I lucked up and traded it of just before it blew head gasket!!! grin

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

I'm in Flomaton... close to the Florida line. I'm about 50 miles north of Pensacola.
You are a little out of range. I appreciate it though.

Thanks for the info buck buster.
I said I would take a regular cab but I think I am going to try and hold out for an extended cab.

Middle one of those three Craigslist ones looked pretty clean to me.

Good luck finding a 4cyl ext cab. Many are V6's.

IF you get a V6 one hold out for a newer 3.4 NOT the older 3.0. Good luck

I have what you're looking for but it's not currently for sale. Should I go unemployed much longer, it might be though. It's a 2008 with 136 k on it. Yes it's a 4 cyl, manual extended cab. The exterior is beige.

I came, I saw, so I killed them all......Vern
