If you have a yapping house dog and are thinking of trying a bark activated shock collar to remedy the problem I can give you a preview of how it'll go.

We have a miniature Yorkie in the house that barks at everything. He'll bark when you get out of the bed, when you get off of the couch, when you go out the door, etc. It was driving me crazy. He's a stubborn little sob and whipping him made him bark harder and louder.

I had finally had enough so I go to the pet store and buy this tiny little bark activated shock collar. I mean this collar takes watch batteries and looks like a tracking collar for a squirrel. I bring it home thinking " yep, I'm about to remedy this chit" so we strap it on and prepare for a "test run".

So...my wife is sitting on the couch and he's in her lap. I turn on the collar and get up as if I am going to walk out the front door. About the time my hand hits the doorknob he barks and a five pound Yorkie turns into a Tazmanian devil! The shock from the bark caused him to yelp which, in turn, caused another shock which then turned into another yelp and another and another. You get the picture. My wife is freaking out and screaming at me to turn it off while still trying hold onto him, all at the same time. Once she got hit by the shower of piss he was spraying everywhere she decided to let go. He hit the ground like his ass was on fire and by the time I finally caught him and got the collar off he'd also laid out a running trail of dog chit from one end of the house to the other.

The good news is, all we have to do now is show him that collar and he lays down and pisses on himself and shakes as if he's having some type of seizure. He won't bark for a 10oz ribeye.
