Honda, Suzuki, or Kawi for me. Anyway, if you buy a "large" atv, make sure you won't be riding in any confined areas. My small Suzuki was my favorite because it was very maneuverable in tight turns and spaces and had plenty of power.

Get a Honda. I'm on my third one (first two were stolen).

My current model is a 2007 Rancher 350 ES. While I'm not a huge fan of the electronic shift, mine has never given me any trouble.
They were out of the manual shifts the day I bought it.

Rancher or foreman. Dont leave them in the woods without 5 pounds of rat poison in/on/around it. A complete wire harness is expensive.....

Rats 1 - honda 0

I had a Yamaha for 15 years with no trouble at all until the spindle just flat wore out. Now I have a Kawasaki because we have a local dealer. No one seems to be able to keep the carburetor running like it should. Yes, I know all about the ethanol, etc. but I'm having issues that I never had with the Yamaha. One of the guys I hunt with has a Honda and it seems to be the beacon of reliability.

Next one I buy will either be a Honda or another Yamaha.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

Ask yourself a question. ...how many 85 to 95 model year atvs are still toting deer out of the woods? Of those what brand is 90% of them?

Most are old fourtraxs. Got a 91' 300 4x4 myself that's still strong.

I'm a Yamaha fan too. Hondas may be top quality, but they're (to me) ugly and generally underpowered in comparison. I personally don't think there's a measurable quality difference between a Yamaha and Honda, but the Yamaha's generally look better (I know, it's just an arguable preference) and I believe output more power. The last 4wheeler I had of ANY kind was a 770 Grizzly...that sun'gun would go anywhere.

If you could find a Rhino for your price, it'd probably be at least worth looking at.

I'm in the 10%. I have a '86 Yamaha Moto 4 225 that looks new and will start when others won't. ALWAYS garage kept. All it's ever had is batteries and needed service. It has the original brakes and just got it's first set of new tires a few years ago. That little feller has had a bunch of full grown bucks hauled on it. smile

I have an 05 Eiger with 4,500 miles on it and the only thing I would trade it for is an Arctic cat.I owned one of those also and the ride was awesome. My favorite thing about the cat was the low center of gravity which gave really good balance when you're hanging sideways on a hill.

I have the 420 rancher in 4x4 es. It has the fuel injection which is the best thing they have come out with since 4x4. I would think you could find an 07 or 08 in your price range.

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

The foreman I'm looking at is a 2012 with 2200 miles. Does that seem a little high, as far as miles go, for a 2012? It does to me.

I mean, it's 4x4 with electric shift. That's two on the plus side. The mileage had me concerned. Most of the ATV's I've looked at have had less than 1k miles with 200 hours.

Agree 100%.

Honda doesn't have all those extra bells and whistles and bling to them but never had a problem, had a 88 fourtrax 300 that me and my brother put it through pure misery. Whoever has it today ill bet the farm its still running. Go to lakehill motors and take a look at the foremans, ranchers or rubicon, rincon .

Best prices around and great folks. Just like anything though take care of it and service as needed.

I've had Hondas and I've had Yahamas. I prefer the Yahama but for no good reason, Hondas have been good.

Honda for sure.. hard to beat. I have owned 2 different Honda's for over 20 years and other than normal maintenance no issues whatsoever. A friend of mine, has owned Polaris to Arctic Cat, to Suzuki and finally got smart and got a Honda. He says that will be all he owns from now on.

The machine you have is perfectly capable of doing anything you need.

I had a Honda Rancher 350ES 2wd that was tough as nails, but I also had an 05 Yamaha Bruin 350 4wd that was tough as nails. Both ATV's will do the exact same thing (except 2wd vs. 4wd)
